Creating & Managing Listings

Everything you need to know about creating, editing, and managing your SoftPatch marketplace listings.

Step 1

Choose Your Listing Type

Navigate to /softpatch/create to get started. SoftPatch supports three listing types, each with a dedicated creation form.

Gear

Equipment for rental or sale — lighting, audio, rigging, video, and more.

Spaces

Physical locations — rehearsal rooms, warehouses, studios, shop space.

Services

Professional skills — technicians, designers, operators, consultants.

Step by Step

Creating a Listing

Follow these four steps to create a listing that stands out.

Choose Type

Pick gear, space, or service. Each has a dedicated creation form tailored to its category.

Add Details

Fill in the essentials: title (clear, descriptive name), description (specs, condition, what's included), category (specific type like lighting, audio, etc.), pricing (daily/weekly rates or hourly for services), and location (appears on the map, fuzzed for privacy).

Add Photos

1 to 10 photos required, max 10MB each. Clear, well-lit images from multiple angles are recommended.

Submit for Review

Your listing goes to moderation for quality review. Most listings are approved within 24 to 48 hours.

Management

Your Listings Dashboard

Access your dashboard at /softpatch/my-listings to manage everything in one place.

Two Main Tabs

"My Listings" shows all your listings. "Inquiries" tracks messages about your listings and ones you've contacted.

Filter Chips

Quickly filter by category: All, TourReady, Services, Gear, or Spaces.

Status Badges

Each listing shows its current status: Draft (not submitted), Pending (in review), or Published (live on marketplace).

Quick Actions

Edit, unpublish, or delete listings directly from the dashboard without navigating away.

Editing

Editing & Unpublishing

Keep your listings accurate and up to date.

Edit

Click edit on any listing to update details, pricing, or photos. Changes to published listings may require re-approval.

Unpublish

Temporarily hide a listing from the marketplace. Your listing data is preserved and can be republished anytime.

Delete

Permanently remove a listing. This action cannot be undone. Consider unpublishing first if you might relist later.

Expiration

Listing Expiration

Listings auto-expire to keep the marketplace current and relevant.

Auto-Expiration

Listings automatically expire after a set period to ensure the marketplace stays fresh and accurate.

Expiration Notifications

You'll receive a notification before your listing expires, giving you time to renew or update it.

Easy Renewal

Renew directly from the My Listings page with a single click. No need to re-enter your details.

Nothing Is Deleted

Expired listings are simply unpublished, not deleted. You can renew and republish them at any time.

Communication

Managing Inquiries

Track and respond to inquiries about your listings and manage ones you've sent.

Received

Inquiries from other users about your listings. Review, respond, and manage conversations.

Sent

Inquiries you have sent to other listing owners. Track their status and follow up.
