Is RiderReady just for lighting?
We're starting with lighting—the most complex production data—but the vision is much bigger. RiderReady is being built as a multi-hub platform that will expand to audio, video, rigging, and backline equipment. Cross-hub integrations like master weight calculations and power budgets will turn this into the command center for entire production planning. Thank you for being here from the start.
Is RiderReady free to use?
Yes! RiderReady is completely free during our public beta while we refine the product with community feedback. Browsing fixtures, comparing specs, creating lists, and reading reviews costs nothing. Some features like AI Search and submitting reviews require a free account.
In the future, we'll introduce membership tiers—Local (free), Working Pass ($5/mo), and AAA ($25/mo). Core database access will always remain free, but premium features like vendor inventory data, advanced filters, and AI search will require a paid membership.
Why is RiderReady free?
RiderReady is free during our public beta because we're building this with the industry, not just for it.
We're gathering feedback from the people who will actually use this every day—production managers, lighting techs, crew chiefs, production companies, rental houses, and manufacturers. Your input directly shapes what RiderReady becomes.
The honest answer? I believe in what this platform can be. I'm confident RiderReady will fundamentally change how the live events industry plans and builds productions. But to get there, we need real users telling us what works, what doesn't, and what's missing.
This is your chance to influence the tool before it's locked in. Use it, break it, tell us what you need. When RiderReady launches fully, you'll have helped build something that actually fits how you work.
How can I contribute?

Report Errors – Found incorrect data? Contributors can submit edits directly.
Do I qualify to contribute?
Currently, applicants need at least 5 years of experience working in concerts, theater, corporate events, or similar production environments. Approved Contributors earn the Verified Pro badge and gain the ability to add fixtures and fulfill community requests. As we mature beyond public beta.
I found incorrect data. How do I report it?
If you're a contributor, you can submit an edit directly. Otherwise, email us at support@riderready.live with the fixture name and the correction.
What is GDTF?
GDTF (General Device Type Format) is an open standard for describing lighting fixtures. It contains DMX channels, physical properties, 3D models, and more. You can import GDTF files when adding fixtures to auto-populate specifications. Visit
gdtf-share.com to browse available files.
Can I export data from RiderReady?
Yes, you can export fixture comparisons to CSV and download GDTF files when available. Bulk data scraping is not permitted. If you'd like a very specific query made, please email support.
How do I delete my account?
Go to your Profile page and look for the account deletion option in settings. Your personal data will be removed within 30 days. Reviews may be anonymized rather than deleted.
