Vendor Guide

Managing vendor profiles and inventory on RiderReady

Quick Start

1. Find Your Vendor

Browse the Vendors page map or list to find your rental house.

2. Apply to Manage

Click "Apply to Manage" on your vendor's page to become a Vendor Rep.

3. Manage Inventory

Once approved, directly add and update your company's equipment inventory.

How Vendor Inventory Works

RiderReady tracks which rental houses have which equipment in stock. This helps professionals find gear near them. Inventory data comes from two sources:

Community-Reported

Any user can report that a vendor has equipment. Great for getting data quickly, but may be outdated.

Blue markers on the map

Vendor-Verified

Managed directly by Vendor Reps. Trusted, accurate, and up-to-date inventory data.

Green markers on the map

Community Voting

Users can vote on community-reported inventory to indicate accuracy. High-confidence reports (many upvotes) are more reliable. Negative votes help flag outdated information.

Managing Inventory

Adding Equipment to Inventory

There are several ways to add equipment to your vendor's inventory:

From Equipment Pages

Visit any equipment page and click "Add to Vendor Inventory".

Bulk via Lists

Add equipment to a List first, then add the entire list to inventory at once.

From Vendor Dashboard

Search and add equipment directly from your vendor management page.

Managing Locations

If your company has multiple locations (warehouses, branches), you can add each one. Inventory can be assigned to specific locations, helping users find gear near them.

Keeping Inventory Current

As a Vendor Rep, your updates are trusted and don't require approval. Keep your inventory up-to-date so customers can rely on the information. Remove equipment you no longer carry and add new acquisitions promptly.

Pro Tips

Use Lists for Bulk Operations

Create a list of equipment, then add them all to inventory at once. Great for initial setup!

Add All Your Locations

Multiple warehouses? Add each one so inventory shows up on the map accurately.

Keep It Current

Accurate inventory builds trust. Update when you acquire or retire equipment.

Engage with Community Reports

If users report inventory you don't have, you can correct it directly.
